Survival When Off-Roading / Overlanding Doesn’t Go as Planned

Rob Mullins is a professional survival instructor, Appalachian Search and Rescue Field Level IV and holds a Wilderness First Responder certificate. He has led clients in the woods of Ohio, mountains of Montana and deserts of California. He is an avid overlanding enthusiast and has studied numerous bad situations with off-roaders and overlanders. We will discuss a high-level approach to survival when overlanding/off roading goes wrong including Survival Rule of 3's, gear for your rig, and simple principles to keep you alive and help you be found quickly. We will discuss two real scenarios where survival in a disabled vehicle meant life or death.
